A Note to My Kids in This Broken World

My Sweet Babies,
There are days when my heart feels so heavy thinking about the world you’re growing up in. It makes me so sad that you don’t get the chance to live in a world that feels safe, kind, and fair the way every child should. I wish I could keep you little forever, shield you from all the brokenness, and protect your innocence. But I know I can’t.
What I can do is hope, hope with everything in me that you’ll grow up and help change it. I pray you’ll find your voice and use it bravely. I pray you’ll speak your truth without fear, and that you’ll never feel the need to shrink yourself just to stay safe.
I know the world can be cruel, but I want you to carry kindness with you anyway. I want you to stand tall when it’s hard, love people even when it’s unpopular, and fight for what’s right even when it feels lonely.
You are my greatest hope. And I believe with all my heart that your generation can bring the change we so desperately need. Don’t ever let the world dim your fire. Don’t ever let fear silence you. You were born to shine, and I’ll spend my whole life cheering you on.
Love always,
Mom
