Dear Government,

It’s interesting… or should I say timely, how the very people who have the power to end the government shutdown are taking a nice, long weekend. A weekend that just happens to stretch conveniently past the deadline, leaving thousands of military families in limbo once again.

Military members are still showing up for duty… deploying, training, serving…

You - Government - hold the power to end this. Yet, while decisions are delayed, families are the ones paying the price. Families who have already sacrificed so much.

And let’s be honest… if your paychecks were the ones frozen, if your mortgages, utilities, and family needs were on the line…this shutdown would have been resolved long before the weekend began.

The men and woman who fiercely serve this beautiful country, continuously keep showing up… even when their own government doesn’t show up for them and it’s extremely disappointing.
